We fell in love with this winery during our initial visit in April. Owners, John and Nancy McClintock, built this tasting room like a tree house hideout that is tucked away among a canopy of Douglas Fir and White Oak trees.  In fact, it is called “The Treehouse Tasting Room.” It is a 6000 square foot canopy-high tasting room that rests atop rolling rows of vines and stunning panoramic views of the Willamette Valley. This tasting room was built in the classic Northwest style by local craftsmen, with timbers milled from their own vineyard property. They are known for their premium Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris, both of which are crafted from estate vines that slope gently to the west, towards the city of McMinnville and the Coast Range beyond.  They initially started as a small vineyard block in the red soil of Dundee Hills in 1995. They began making wine in 2000 and now it is a small boutique winery that produces about 3,500 cases of world class wine a year. This new tree house tasting room opened its doors in November 2007. It sits among other wonderful wineries such as Domaine Drouhin, Domaine Serene, Winter’s Hill, White Rose and Wine Country Farm.  All are worth a visit if you are ever in the Dundee Hill  area on Hilltop Lane.

This is a unique winery in that their wine program features several guest winemakers from the Willamette Valley. Each individual lends his or her own talents to the Vista Hills grapes, producing premium quality wines in varied styles. Their wines showcase the best that each winemaker has to offer.  Such diversity in one location is truly special. John and Nancy also established the Clint Foundation in the early 1990’s, which is in partnership with 11 colleges and universities around the country, assisting students working their way through school. 10% of all profits support this foundation.
