We experienced Troon Vineyards for the first time during our trip to Carlton, Oregon.  Although their winery is really in Grants Pass, Oregon, near the California border, they opened up another tasting room in Carlton, Oregon, so wine enthusiasts from all over Oregon and Washington could experience their creations without having to make that six hour drive south.

This new tasting room is in the heart of Carlton Wine District. This is less than one hour away from the Portland city limits. Their French-villa style tasting room is warm and inviting with a back patio area that is equally relaxing. During our visit, a jazz singer was performing. What better way to end a wine tasting jaunt, than with a glass of Druid’s Fluid and some good music.

During our visit, their knowledgeable staff provided us with the most wonderful portfolio that gave a complete overview of the vineyards history and current production. It was so informative, that we contacted Liz at their winery in Grants Pass and requested additional portfolios for our members. She kindly agreed and we have provided you with your own copy. Rather than rambling on and on about their facility, one that we have not had the opportunity to see yet, we thought this was the best way to inform you about Troon Vineyards.

Even though Troon Vineyards has the capacity to produce 10,000 cases a year—it is still considered a boutique winery. They make only small lots (mostly fewer than 300 cases) of their different varietals. This allows them to have new and interesting wines ready for the public to enjoy every time they visit. They continue to strive to bring only the best fruit into the winery from small estate vineyards and to let the nature of the grapes express themselves.
