Owner and winemaker, Larry Pearson, dreamed of growing cabernet sauvignon back in the early 80's. He and his wife, Jane, purchased their land in the Red Mountains and planted their first cabernet sauvignon vines in 1985. They named their vineyard "Tapteil", after the lower portion of the Yakima River where the Tapteilmin (narrow river people) once lived. His vineyard now grows merlot, syrah and cabernet franc among the rows of his cabernet sauvignon.  Larry makes some amazingly intense, full-flavored wines. 

Their tasting room is certainly inviting. From the hilltop terrace with sweeping views of the  Red Mountains and Horse Heaven Hills, to the cozy interior of their tasting room, you will enjoy not only tasting Larry's full-flavored wines, but you will enjoy your visit with both Larry and Jane. Both are personable and they greet you with a warm smile and they enjoy sharing their knowledge of the Red Mountains and the wines they produce. Jane also sells a fine selection of tasty virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. What better way to enjoy your afternoon, than by having a glass of their wine, some fresh artisan bread to soak up the tasty olive oil and take in the panoramic views.
